Under Nigeria’s law, that is, the Companies and Allied Matters Act Cap C20 LFN, every company operating in Nigeria must be incorporated at Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), a federal government agency. Your company can be incorporated as:
- A company limited by shares
- A company limited by guarantee; or
- An unlimited company.
Requirements
To incorporate your company, the following information and documents are required:
- At least two shareholders/directors
- A secretary
- Name, date of birth, occupation, address, phone number and email address of shareholders/directors and the secretary
- Amount of shares held by each of the shareholders/directors
- Object of the company (types of businesses being carried out by the company)
- Company address
- Authorized share capital
- Directors’ and the secretary’s means of identification (international passport, national identity card, voter’s card or driver’s license).
- Two names of the company. Out of these two name, CAC will approve one for registration.
How to Incorporate/Register Your Company
The incorporation/registration is done online on CAC website.
Duration
If you send to us all the information and documents required for incorporation, we can incorporate your company within a week but not later than two weeks. If you are residing outside Abuja, we will send your incorporation documents including your company’s certificate of incorporation to you via a courier service company of your choice at your own expense.
