How to Register Your Company in Nigeria

Under Nigeria’s law, that is, the Companies and Allied Matters Act Cap C20 LFN, every company operating in Nigeria must be incorporated at Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), a federal government agency. Your company can be incorporated as:

  • A company limited by shares
  • A company limited by guarantee; or
  • An unlimited company.

Requirements

To incorporate your company, the following information and documents are required:

  1. At least two shareholders/directors
  2. A secretary
  3. Name, date of birth, occupation, address, phone number and email address of shareholders/directors and the secretary
  4. Amount of shares held by each of the shareholders/directors
  5. Object of the company (types of businesses being carried out by the company)
  6. Company address
  7. Authorized share capital
  8. Directors’ and the secretary’s means of identification (international passport, national identity card, voter’s card or driver’s license).
  9. Two names of the company. Out of these two name, CAC will approve one for registration.

How to Incorporate/Register Your Company

The incorporation/registration is done online on CAC website.

Duration

If you send to us all the information and documents required for incorporation, we can incorporate your company within a week but not later than two weeks. If you are residing outside Abuja, we will send your incorporation documents including your company’s certificate of incorporation to you via a courier service company of your choice at your own expense.
